RTE's Afternoon Show visit Newcastle Bookworms!

On 30th April 2008 a camera crew and a presenter from 'The Afternoon Show' arrived to Newcastle! Children were interviewed about their favourite book and asked questions about their chosen book! Mrs Magnier's students wrote before Christmas asking to be on the show. Out of hundreds of schools, our school was selected. It was a great honour for our school to be chosen and all the students interviewed did very well under the spot light. They final cut will be featured on 'The Afternoon Show' on Monday, May 19th! Watch this space for future TV stars in the making!

Here I am talking to the director, Rob, showing him our 80,000,000 year old dinosaur bones. My favorite book is called 'Dinosaur Cove' by Rex Stone.

Caitriona, the interviewer, is talking to everyone, asking everyone their name and about their favourite book.

"I felt happy when I was being interviewed"

Third and Fourth Classes went out to the yard to introduce the school. Graham and Clodagh said, "We are Newcastle National School," and everyone said, "We are Galway's biggest bookworms!"

Here is Caitriona is being filmed, repeating her questions.

"It was brilliant!"
"It was fantastic!"

"It was really great!"

"It was super!"

"It was the best day ever!"
